Sounds like a typical day at the office: weapons cache, IEDs, scandalous prisons, etc. Yawn. Makes my life seem downright boring. My friend Scott is back at command central after what was hopefully his last mission and is headed home in a few weeks! And in true rapper fashion, Stumpy has certainly benefited from the initial unfortunate toothbrush incident and skyrocketed to fame and fortune with little to no talent, save 7 (now 8) very fast legs. RIPIP (Relief In Place...in Peace) my friend, and STAY SAFE! moules and frites are on their way...

...I JUST got back from what I'm lead to believe is my last excursion. We were out on the Peninsula for a day doing searches and claims, then at Abu Guryab (never get the spelling right) doing some more legal stuff (missed getting hit by two IEDs by about 20 minutes with no damage or casualties to the convoy that was in front of us), then found a weapons cache, then back into Fallujah for more claims processing and finally "home" to the Hovel. A full week. Had one of the two officers replacing me in tow. Had his camera out most of the time, as the novelty of it all won't wear off for some time. He's now seen more in a week than many who came with him will see all tour. Met some local leaders in the process, as well as some of my long time buds who will still be here a bit longer. Both should assist him in his endeavors.
I've begun to organize the hovel for retrograde (I took out the trash) and find myself actually transitioning to less and less work as my various reliefs take more and more responsibility. This is called a RIP or Relief In Place where the incoming unit falls in on the equipment and tasks of the departing unit. RIP in Peace, I say.
Heard thru the grapevine that ol' Stumpy (or rather the Arachnid formerly known as "Stumpy") got himself published in the school quarterly newsletter. He's got quite the posse now. Gold chains, baseball cap on sideways and pants buckled at the thighs. But he hasn't forgotten his Peeps and I alone have his personal cell number. He said to have my people get up with his people and let's do something.
Getting pretty "short" here, and should be home very soon....
