Not that you need an actual reason to love Paris, but I happen to have many. This is one of my favorites. I was on the #7 metro late this morning, heading home from an interview, sitting in the pull-down seats next to the doors. I am embarrassed to say that I was exhausted as it was the earliest I have risen in quite a few months, not since my 6am pastry internship at Pierre Hermé Patisserie that nearly killed me. I was also too concerned about getting lost and being late to stop for my morning café. This working thing is going to be more of a challenge that I thought.
As I was contemplating the horrifying idea of now having to set my alarm clock, I looked up and saw a handsome older gentleman, think Harrison Ford at 70, who was moving toward the doors next to me. I smiled at him. He didn’t smile back. He looked at me again. I smiled. He didn’t smile back. A few seconds later he looked at me again and handed me a little piece of wrapped candy. I smiled and said “Merci!” He then leaned down, gave me a kiss on the cheek and told me I had a beautiful smile…
Life is good, my friends, life is good.
Hi, my name is Veronica, i'm 25 years old. I'm a peruvian native but live in the States with my husband, he is american. We met at culinary school in France on 2003, we fall in love and here we are, happy and married. We share that culinary passion and is great. But he is more a cuisine guy and me a pastry girl. I;ve been working here, but i wanna go back to Paris for a stage... thinking about Pierre Herme of course! I'll be going next summer, do you think you can help me with that??? maybe you have some contacts, thanks you so much for your time and for sharing your experiences, they are great!! I'll be waiting for a response, bye bye, Veronica.
