On Sunday afternoon, my Dutch friend Marleen who lives in Birmingham was in town and we decided to get some culture via the new Musée du Quai Branly, a marvel of modern architecture and a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower. It was a glorious day with deep blue skies and a determined chill in the air announcing that winter was indeed here. I had forgotten that the first Sunday of every month there are no admissions fees to all museums and, as it turns out, the rest of France and a few surronding countries had the same idea as the line snaked around the buildings daring anyone to fall into step. With limited time before she had to catch her plane, we decided to explore the outside of the museum which is magnificent in its own right. Add it to your "must see" list the next time you come to town. And if you come on the first Sunday of the month, get there early! Mes deux centimes...
